Virtual USD cards for online spend
Visa or Mastercard, in USD, drawn on the balance in your business account. Every application is reviewed by our team — there is no charge to apply.
Illustrations only. No card number is issued until an application is approved, and the illustrations above are not representations of any card network’s marks.
A card that draws on your balance
No credit line, no separate funding, and no monthly fee.
- Virtual only — no physical card and no cash withdrawal.
- Visa or Mastercard, chosen when you apply.
- USD, spent against your USD balance.
- A monthly spend limit is set at application.
- Reviewed by our team, never granted automatically.
- Free to apply, and nothing charged if declined.
Built for recurring online payments
If a service only takes a card, this keeps that payment out of your operating account details.
Where it fits
A virtual card is a payment credential, not an account: no balance to top up and no credit facility. Spend is drawn from the USD balance held in your account.
- Suits subscriptions that renew on a date, advertising and cloud platforms billing a card on file, and tools that ask for one at sign-up.
- Keeps a payment method separate from your operating account details, for online-only spend.
What it is not
Being explicit about the boundaries saves time on both sides.
- Not a physical card. Nothing is posted to you, and it cannot be used at a terminal or an ATM.
- Not a credit product. No borrowing, no carried balance, no interest.
- Not issued automatically. Applying is free, but approval is a decision our team makes.
- Not a way around a limit. The approved monthly limit is the limit that applies.
Networks, currency and limits
The terms of a card are decided before it is issued.
| Card type | Virtual only No physical card — a number, an expiry date and a security code. |
| Networks | Visa or Mastercard You choose the network when you apply. |
| Currency | USD Spend is denominated in US dollars against your USD balance. |
| Spend limit | Monthly, set at application Applied from the moment the card is issued. |
| Where it works | Online merchants accepting the network Subject to your monthly limit. |
| Issuance | After review Reviewed by our team. Applications can be declined. |
Check the platforms you pay accept it first — the network cannot be changed later.
Same behaviour, same USD denomination. Pick whichever your subscriptions accept.
A maximum for a calendar month, chosen in advance to keep spend deliberate — a ceiling, not a target. Raise it with your account manager rather than working around it.
How an application works
Six steps from starting the application to holding a working card.
- 1
Apply from the client portal
The business and the account it draws on are already identified.
- 2
Choose the network
Select Visa or Mastercard, and check your merchants accept it.
- 3
Set a monthly limit
Choose a limit you can defend against the account’s activity.
- 4
Submit for review
The team sees your account, verification status and requested terms. No charge applies.
- 5
Wait for the outcome
We notify you by email. A decline is communicated as clearly as an approval.
- 6
Use the card if approved
Issuance is arranged and the card becomes available.
What you will need
- A business account, opened, with verification completed.
- A USD balance, since the card draws on the balance rather than on credit.
- The network you want, checked against the merchants you pay.
What the review considers
An application is judged on the account behind it, not on the request alone.
Your account standing
Whether the account is funded, whether verification is complete, and whether activity is consistent with the business we onboarded.
Verification status
Identity and business verification must be complete. An outstanding item is resolved first, and it is the most common reason an application pauses.
Expected usage
What the card is for and the limit requested. A limit far above your normal funding pattern prompts questions rather than approval.
The card as a whole
Network, limit and purpose are considered together. If something is missing we say what, and we do not approve terms we are not comfortable with.
None of these criteria promises an outcome, and we cannot guarantee approval.
What a card costs
No cost to apply and no monthly card fee. The only charge attached to the card is issuance, quoted on approval.
| Card application | Free | No charge to apply, and no charge if an application is not approved. |
| Card issuance | Quoted on approval | Confirmed before a card is issued. |
| Monthly card fee | None | |
| Statements and reporting | Free | Available from your client portal at any time. |
- Applying costs nothing, and a declined application costs nothing.
- Issuance is quoted on approval and confirmed before a card is issued.
- There is no monthly card fee and no recurring maintenance charge.
- Card spend is met from your USD balance, so the funding, conversion and withdrawal fees on the pricing page apply.
- Withdrawing as USDT is separate from card spend: 0.5% plus $1.00, minimum $100.00.
Spending, limits and staying in control
Once a card is issued, use is straightforward — the limit keeps it predictable.
Spending
Use the card online wherever the network is accepted. Spend is met from your USD balance, so keeping the balance funded is what keeps the card working.
Recurring payments
Subscriptions that renew on a card are the core use case. Because the card is a credential rather than plastic, it can be closed quickly — and your account number is never shared with the merchant.
Limits
The monthly limit caps exposure for that month and makes a runaway subscription visible early, which is what keeps card spend predictable.
Getting help with a card
Card questions are usually one of three kinds, and each has a direct route.
From the client portal
Applications are submitted and tracked there — the fastest route for anything tied to the card’s record.
By email — support@mikupay.com
Use the support inbox when the question is not tied to a screen: a failed payment, or a limit to discuss.
In the help centre
Articles cover how applications work and what each status means, before you apply.
Include the business name and roughly when you applied, so you get an answer about your own card.
Questions we are asked most
Answered properly, including what is a decision rather than a promise.
Why was my application declined?
Usually the reason is the account: verification that is not complete, an unfunded account, or a limit that does not match how the account is used. Another application is possible once that changes, and a decline costs nothing.
How long does review take?
Review is a decision by people, measured in working time. A complete file with a matching limit is quickest. If we need anything, we ask directly.
Can I request a higher limit?
A limit is set at application and reviewed with the relationship. Speak to your account manager rather than adding a second card to work around the first.
Is there a physical card?
No. Cards are virtual only. There is no plastic card and no cash withdrawal, and it is not for use in a shop.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Contact your account manager or support and the card can be closed. Update any merchant still pointing at it, or its renewal will fail.
Who issues the card, and what terms apply to it?
We review the application and set the limit. Cards are issued under a card programme, and the entity that issues your card together with the cardholder agreement that governs its use are provided to you before the card is used. Visa and Mastercard are registered trademarks of their respective owners; naming a network describes the card you chose and does not imply that we are affiliated with it.
Apply from the client portal
Existing clients can apply from the portal and track the application there. If you are not a client yet, an account comes first — accounts are opened by invitation. Either way, applying costs nothing.
Support: support@mikupay.com · every account requires a code sent to the account email when signing in from an unfamiliar device, and operational actions are audited.
Before you apply
- Confirm verification is complete — an incomplete file is the most common reason to pause an application.
- Check which network your existing subscriptions accept.
- Decide a limit that matches the account’s activity rather than the maximum you might want.
